You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Millennium's strategy against Agua Fria on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Owls out of the water with a 66-6 final score. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Owls are ranked 166th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Millennium's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dmari Bryant, who rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also caught one TD. Bryant is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 144 every time he's taken the field this season. Another signal caller making a difference was Rayden Reibel, who threw for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Millennium didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Agua Fria to a completion percentage of just 30.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Max Kannapel, Trey Franklin, and Kiaun Davison, who each logged one passes deflected. Millennium wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.2%.

Millennium's defense also made the game a nightmare for Taj Smith II., racking up 11 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Angelo Ortiz and Ayden De Leon, who racked up five sacks between them.

Despite the loss, Agua Fria still got an impressive performance from Camarion Samuel, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one score.

Millennium's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Agua Fria, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millennium will take on Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Agua Fria, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carl Hayden Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
