Wake Christian Academy is a perfect 4-0 against GRACE Christian since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m.
Neuse Christian Academy hit Wake Christian Academy with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 9-8.
Chloe Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Lea Morgan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, GRACE Christian entered their tilt with Durham Academy last Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Cavaliers 12-2. Considering the Eagles have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Audrey Lester was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Lilly McGuire also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
GRACE Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham Academy only posted an OBP of .316.
GRACE Christian pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Wake Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Wake Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against GRACE Christian in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
