Recap: Bensalem Fighting Owls vs. Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds

It was a good run, but the Bensalem Fighting Owls unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Holy Ghost Prep by a score of 86-83. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (63), Bensalem still had to take the loss.

Several Fighting Owls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaidyn Moffitt, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Moffitt is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Antonio Morris was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds.

Bensalem's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2. As for Holy Ghost Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Bensalem will head out on the road to challenge Council Rock South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Council Rock South is on a three-game streak of home wins, Bensalem a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Holy Ghost Prep will take on Penn Wood at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
