Baseball Recap: LKY Makes It Six in a Row at Home

LKY can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Southern Trojans 6-4.

Matthew Collins looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Marshall McCartney was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Armani, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

LKY pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Southern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11.

Coming up, LKY is taking a road trip to square off against Kentucky Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moore at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
