Softball Recap: Dora Takes a Loss

Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Haleyville Lions. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Kira Vines was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Lillian McKinney, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Haleyville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-18.

Looking ahead, Dora will venture away from home to take on Lynn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Haleyville, they will face off against Cordova at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
