Soccer Recap: Sterling Takes a Loss

Sterling lost against Fort Morgan back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3. One reason for the loss might be Sterling's aggressive play style: Haylee Werth and Kylie Mildenberger were both handed yellow cards.

Lydia Boxberger and Cedi Ball scored all three of Sterling's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-2. As for Fort Morgan, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sterling will challenge rival Liberty Common at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fort Morgan is set to face off against their familiar foe Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering Fort Morgan have lost five straight at home and Valley five straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
