Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Comes Up Short

Lake Norman was the 13-1 winner over Hickory Ridge when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Ragin' Bulls on Tuesday, falling 13-7. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andres Acurero and Carson Beaver stepped up to the plate in a big way. Acurero scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Beaver went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double.

Lake Norman's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Hickory Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

While Lake Norman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
