Webster County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-60 W against the Gilmer County Titans. This was a revenge game for the Highlanders: when they faced off against the Titans back in February, they had to take a 54-47 loss.

Gilmer County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolten Holbert, who went 6-for-7 en route to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The match was Holbert's seventh in a row with at least 17 points. Jacob Mick was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Webster County's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Gilmer County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webster County will welcome Pocahontas County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gilmer County, they will be playing at home against Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilmer County will be up against Calhoun's rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.36 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
