Basketball Game Preview: Lovelady Lions vs. Groveton Indians

The Lovelady Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Groveton Indians at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lovelady took on Normangee on Tuesday. Lovelady was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Normangee. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Groveton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a blow against Leon, falling 60-23.

Groveton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Lovelady, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Everything came up roses for Lovelady against Groveton when the teams last played on January 7th, as the squad secured a 60-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lovelady since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
