Football Recap: Ryan Boston and Troy Garner Lead the Defense for Rich Township Win

Rich Township never let their opponents score on Friday. They strolled past the Thornton Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 14-0. The Raptors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ortez Johnson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries.

Rich Township didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryan Boston and Troy Garner. Garner also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Rayshawn Allen was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory got Rich Township back to even at 2-2. As for Thornton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Rich Township has already played their next game, a 42-0 win against Bloom on the 27th. As for Thornton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 victory against Thornridge on the 26th.
