Soccer Game Preview: Prince George vs. L.C. Bird

The Prince George Royals will face off against the L.C. Bird Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Prince George is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Thomas Dale on Thursday. The Royals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Prince George came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Thomas Dale are ranked 270th).

Meanwhile, L.C. Bird had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bulldogs.

L.C. Bird's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-4-1. As for Prince George, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-2.
