Softball Recap: Camp Point Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Prairie on Monday, Camp Point Central came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Seymour Indians by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Karly Peters was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Peters, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Camp Point Central's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Seymour, they now have a winning record of 13-12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Camp Point Central will face off against rival Quincy Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Seymour is set to take on their familiar foe Rushville-Industry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
