Softball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-18 heartbreaker at the hands of the DeSoto Eagles. Even if the Raiders couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Evelyn Ipina was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniela Delgado, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for DeSoto, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13.

Coming up, Skyline will host Horn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for DeSoto, they will head out to take on Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
