The Regis Jesuit Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Valor Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Regis Jesuit's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Valor Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Regis Jesuit took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Fossil Ridge by a score of 7-3.
Michael Kroll looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Steinbeck, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Christian Lopez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valor Christian). Everything went their way against Legend on Thursday as Valor Christian made off with a 12-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.
Trystan Chadwick made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Valor Christian got a big performance out of Harrison Feagans, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brigham Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Valor Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Regis Jesuit pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Valor Christian, their record is now 2-4.
Regis Jesuit's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. Regis Jesuit has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Valor Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Regis Jesuit continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Regis Jesuit's way against Valor Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Regis Jesuit made off with an 8-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Regis Jesuit since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
