Creek Wood proved they can win big on Monday (they won by eight) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Montgomery Central Indians. The win was familiar territory for the Red Hawks, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Not much got past Elizabeth Martin, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Montgomery Central off the board. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Creek Wood's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Montgomery Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
