Volleyball Recap: Fort Osage Triumphs

After losing to Pembroke Hill the last time they met, Fort Osage decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Raiders on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Fort Osage who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 13-25, 25-20.

Fort Osage can attribute much of their success to Mya Holloway, who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Holloway has posted over her last 11 contests.

Holloway wasn't the only good server: Fort Osage was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pembroke Hill only served seven aces.

Fort Osage's record is now 9-5-1. As for Pembroke Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-2.

Fort Osage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Smithville on the 20th. As for Pembroke Hill, they will take on Adrian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
