Volleyball Recap: South Caldwell's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

South Caldwell was the 3-2 winner over Draughn when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Wildcats on Wednesday. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

South Caldwell was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Draughn work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-14, 18-25, 28-26, 25-23.

Lanie Cable paced South Caldwell's offense, picking up eight kills. Cable got some help from Riley Powell and her 13 assists. Finally, Emma Bumgarner kept South Caldwell's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Caldwell fell to 3-1. As for Draughn, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

South Caldwell has already played their next game (against Hibriten), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Draughn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against St. Stephens on the 21st.
