Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. North Baltimore Tigers

Ridgemont has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the North Baltimore Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Ridgemont lost to the Vikings at home by a decisive 53-35 margin. While losing is never fun, Ridgemont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 775th, while the Vikings are ranked 282nd).

Despite the defeat, Ridgemont had strong showings from Anna Ramsey, who scored 23 points along with three blocks and two steals, and Jayda Dondrea, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two blocks. Ramsey continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Laney Elsasser, who scored four points.

Meanwhile, North Baltimore's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They suffered a rough 49-29 loss at the hands of Vanlue.

The losing side was boosted by Mackenna Ducat, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points.

Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for North Baltimore, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Ridgemont took a serious blow against the Tigers in their previous matchup back in January of 2016, falling 82-25. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ridgemont was down 48-13.
