Recap: Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers vs. Boonton Bombers
The Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers scored first but ultimately less than the Boonton Bombers in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bombers by a score of 29-26.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boonton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Cabalar, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Sylas White also helped out as he racked up 124 rushing yards.
Newark Collegiate Academy's loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Boonton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Newark Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Boonton will head out on the road to face off against Kittatinny Regional at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Kittatinny Regional is ranked 234th, while Boonton is ranked 217th).
