Basketball Recap: Achievement First Providence Takes a Loss

Achievement First Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 48-16 loss at the hands of Block Island.

It was another big night for ELIZABETH EVANS, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds for Block Island. EVANS also posted six blocks, which is notable because Block Island is 2-1 when she posts at least five blocks, but 1-6 otherwise. ABIGAIL WILLI was another key player, going 5 of 12 to rack up 10 points along with eight boards and seven assists.

Achievement First Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Block Island, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Achievement First Providence will face off against Woonsocket at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Achievement First Providence is facing Woonsocket at the right time seeing as Woonsocket is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Block Island, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-32 loss against Davies Career & Tech on the 7th.
