Baseball Recap: Homestead Highlanders vs. Grafton Black Hawks
Homestead extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They came up short against the Grafton Black Hawks, falling 11-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Homestead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Pangallo, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Grafton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
On Grafton's side, Elijah Banaag spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
On the hitting side, Will Heinz was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Quello, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
