Soccer Recap: Summit International Prep Comes Up Short

Summit International Prep came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-2 to the Village Tech Viper Squid. The defeat continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their meetings with the Viper Squid: they've now lost six in a row.

Noe Gonzalez and Joel Villegas scored both of Summit International Prep's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Summit International Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Village Tech, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit International Prep will head out to face off against Williams Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Summit International Prep has given up an average of 4.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Village Tech, they will venture away from home to challenge Hampton Prep at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Village Tech is facing Hampton Prep at the right time seeing as Hampton Prep is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
