Baseball Recap: Effingham Comes Up Short

Effingham had taken Taylorville down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Hearts fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 2-1. The Hearts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tornadoes earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Effingham's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Taylorville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Effingham will square off against St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Taylorville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MacArthur at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tornadoes are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
