Basketball Recap: Choctaw County Piles Up the Points Against Fruitdale

After only 29 points in their last matchup, Choctaw County made sure to put some points up on the board against Fruitdale on Monday. The Choctaw County Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Fruitdale Pirates 58-30. That looming 58-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Leading Choctaw County to victory were Jarrod Chaney and Daylen Blakley. Chaney dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals, while Blakley went 10 of 17 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Chaney a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaterrion Curtis, who posted seven points and five steals.

Choctaw County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Choctaw County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Fruitdale, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Choctaw County and Millry will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Fruitdale, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southern Choctaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Choctaw will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fruitdale surely won't give up without a fight.
