Baseball Recap: Malone Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Malone's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Pensacola by a score of 8-5.

Ben Proctor was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Malone's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Hoke Harkrider, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Malone is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pensacola, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-10.

Malone and Pensacola are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Malone will challenge Graceville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pensacola, they are taking a road trip to square off against South Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Seahawks will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
