The Vanguard School Coursers are taking a road trip to face off against the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vanguard School is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, The Vanguard School beat Ellicott 50-46.

The Vanguard School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordyn Christensen out in front who went 5-for-11 en route to 11 points along with five boards and four steals. Christensen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Meli Felix was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.
The Vanguard School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Thomas MacLaren School unfortunately witnessed the end of their 18-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 54-31 to Cedaredge. The contest marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
The Vanguard School will have to contain Sara Christensen as she made an impact in Thomas MacLaren School's last game. She shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aneace Forman, who posted four points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Thomas MacLaren School's defeat dropped their record down to 20-3. As for The Vanguard School, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: The Vanguard School has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Thomas MacLaren School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for The Vanguard School against Thomas MacLaren School in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, as the team secured a 57-20 victory. In that game, The Vanguard School amassed a halftime lead of 35-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
