Basketball Game Preview: Queen Creek Bulldogs vs. Gilbert Tigers

Queen Creek is 0-8 against Gilbert since November of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Queen Creek Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Gilbert Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Queen Creek is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Highland on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Queen Creek took a blow against Highland, falling 59-26. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Meanwhile, Gilbert faced Williams Field in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Gilbert blew past Williams Field 54-33. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Gilbert's win came from a few key players Queen Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aspen McClees, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Contessa Ivy, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points along with six boards and five steals.

Gilbert has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Queen Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Queen Creek was dealt a bruising 85-10 loss at the hands of Gilbert in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Queen Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
