Softball Recap: North Point Has No Trouble Against Thomas Stone

North Point's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Thomas Stone Cougars with a sharp 17-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Alyssa Blaney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Sophia Weedin was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Aminah Ayyad was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

North Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas Stone only posted an OBP of .111.

North Point's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Thomas Stone, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
