Football Game Preview: Arlington Admirals vs. New Rochelle Huguenots

The Arlington Admirals will venture away from home to square off against the New Rochelle Huguenots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Arlington 11.8, New Rochelle 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned.

Arlington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand Yonkers a 19-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Admirals as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Arlington found their leader in sophomore Chase Harris, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Jamie Gemmel got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Arlington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gemmel and Katherine D'Angelo. Gemmel got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, New Rochelle made easy work of Ossining on Saturday and carried off a 33-8 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Huguenots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Pride are ranked 94th).

New Rochelle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.4 points on average over those games. As for Arlington, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Arlington came up short against New Rochelle when the teams last played back in March, falling 26-14. Can the Admirals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
