Oakwood's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Valley View Spartans. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lumberjacks as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Claire Ferra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isa Dunlap, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Reed Archdeacon, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Oakwood's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-10. As for Valley View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-1 record this season.

Valley View will square off against Carlisle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oakwood will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' contest: after the Spartans face off against the Indians, they'll take on Oakwood again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
