Volleyball Game Preview: Diamond Wildcats vs. Lockwood Tigers

The Diamond Wildcats will challenge the Lockwood Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Diamond is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Diamond took on Miller on Tuesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0.

While Diamond had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lockwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Sarcoxie on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lockwood walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-20.

Lockwood pushed their record up to 14-7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Diamond, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Everything went Diamond's way against Lockwood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Diamond made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
