Baseball Recap: Bellevue West Comes Up Short

Lincoln East hit Bellevue West with a four-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderbirds lost 9-0 to the Martin Spartan. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunderbirds of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Bellevue West's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lincoln East, the win was the 16th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bellevue West is set to face off against their familiar foe Elkhorn South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln East will square off against rival North Platte at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
