Softball Game Preview: Plymouth North Eagles vs. Hingham Harbormen

The Plymouth North Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Hingham Harbormen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Plymouth North will be strutting in after a win while Hingham will be coming in after a loss.

While Plymouth North's victory against Whitman-Hanson Regional wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Panthers 6-5 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 15, 2024.

Chloe Stasinos made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Stasinos was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Stasinos wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Walter, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Maggie Fabry was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Hingham couldn't beat Marshfield on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the seventh inning. The Harbormen fell just short of the Rams by a score of 10-9.

Plymouth North's record now sits at 4-11. As for Hingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Plymouth North suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Hingham in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
