Softball Recap: Loyola Academy Wins Going Away Against Montini Catholic

Loyola Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Montini Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Ramblers were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Broncos on Monday. The game marked the Ramblers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Emilia Bartholomew and Leanna Keller did most of the damage at the plate: Bartholomew went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Keller went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Keller has posted since back in May of 2024. Claire Tibshrany also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Loyola Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Loyola Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Montini Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Loyola Academy will take on rival Mother McAuley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Ramblers' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Mighty Macs have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Montini Catholic is set to face off against their familiar foe Providence Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
