Basketball Game Preview: San Manuel Miners vs. Valley Lutheran Flames

Having just played yesterday, the San Manuel Miners will head out on the road to face off against the Valley Lutheran Flames at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. San Manuel has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

San Manuel is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest victory since January 11, 2024 on Thursday. They breezed by Superior to the tune of 37-10.

Meanwhile, Valley Lutheran was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Hayden 44-17. The Flames pushed the score to 43-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lobos cut but never quite recovered from.

San Manuel better keep an eye on Viddiate Clinton. She was instrumental in Valley Lutheran's win, going 6 for 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Natalia Hernandez was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 steals.

Valley Lutheran pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points per game. As for San Manuel, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

San Manuel came up short against Valley Lutheran in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 42-32. Can San Manuel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
