After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eads, Wiley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Springfield Longhorns. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Grant Mauch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up six earned runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
