Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Zion Braves vs. Glenwood Titans

Mt. Zion hasn't had much luck against Glenwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Braves will look to defend their home field against the Titans at 4:30 p.m. Mt. Zion will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Mt. Zion's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Metamora hitters got past them. The Braves walked away with a 16-13 victory over the Redbirds on Tuesday. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Redbirds recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Glenwood didn't have quite enough to beat Routt Catholic on Wednesday and fell 10-9.

Dalton Nunes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Mueller, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Mt. Zion's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Glenwood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4.
