Basketball Game Preview: Vacaville Bulldogs vs. Vanden Vikings

The Vacaville Bulldogs will take on the Vanden Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Vacaville had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Sacramento put an end to it on Monday. Vacaville took a hard 42-24 fall against Sacramento. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vanden). They claimed a resounding 101-32 win over Pioneer. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Vacaville better keep an eye on Nate Hibbert. He was instrumental in Vanden's win, going 12 of 18 from beyond the arc en route to 46 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Hibbert a new career-high in points. James Carraway was another key player, going 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points.

Vanden was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Vanden is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Vacaville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Vacaville took a serious blow against Vanden when the teams last played on January 8th, falling 76-49. Can Vacaville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
