Basketball Game Preview: Serra Cavaliers vs. Muir Mustangs

The Serra Cavaliers and the Muir Mustangs will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Serra knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Muir likes a good challenge.

Serra saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Jordan by a score of 74-65.

Serra's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khary Wilder, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Wilder is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Chinemerem Anyikwa was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Muir beat Kennedy 42-37 on Saturday.

Muir's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Serra, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Serra against Muir in their previous matchup back in December of 2014, as the squad secured a 76-37 victory. Will Serra repeat their success, or does Muir have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
