Basketball Recap: North Royalton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cleveland Central Catholic last Monday, North Royalton came back down to earth. The North Royalton Bears fell to the Normandy Invaders 49-44. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Invaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Normandy found their leader in sophomore Ziley Minich, who went 6-for-15 on her way to 18 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Faith Mathis was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

North Royalton's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Normandy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. North Royalton and Wadsworth will meet on February 19th for a tough Bear Battle. As for Normandy, they will take on Cleveland School of Science and Medicine in a tournament on February 19th.
