Softball Recap: Armwood Starts Season with Win Against King

Armwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the King Lions as the Armwood Hawks made off with a 25-7 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Armwood let Cayla Davis and Justine Smith run wild. Davis got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Smith got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in RBI. Azaria Hall was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Armwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .771. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King only posted an OBP of .500.

King's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Armwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 19-2 victory against Freedom on the 20th. As for King, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-1 defeat against Leto on the 21st.
