The Philo Electrics will head out on the road to face off against the Claymont Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Philo will be strutting in after a win while Claymont will be coming in after a defeat.

Philo took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over New Lexington. The Electrics haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lexie Charles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Charles was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Charles wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyleigh McGraw, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. That's the most doubles McGraw has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Claymont didn't have quite enough to beat Tuscarawas Valley on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Philo back to even at 4-4. As for Claymont, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Philo came out on top in a nail-biter against Claymont when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Electrics since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
