Baseball Game Preview: Yreka Miners vs. University Prep Panthers

For the second straight game, Yreka will face off against University Prep. The Miners will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yreka is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Yreka came up short against University Prep and fell 5-2.

Laydon Luce made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Yreka: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

University Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Yreka, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
