The team relied heavily on Ayden Himmer, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Kyle Conrad, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Penn Cambria kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Central Cambria had just enough and edged out Bellwood-Antis 11-9 on Thursday.
Grady Snyder was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Blake Coposky was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Central Cambria has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Penn Cambria, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Penn Cambria hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Central Cambria struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
