Recap: Grenada Chargers vs. South Panola Tigers
The Grenada Chargers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They suffered a rough 80-60 defeat at the hands of South Panola. While losing is never fun, Grenada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while South Panola is ranked 29th).
Grenada's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carlei Brown, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Lauren Harges who scored 26 points. Brown hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. August Hardiman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Grenada has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for South Panola, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grenada will take on Lake Cormorant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Panola, they will be playing at home against Olive Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Olive Branch is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
