Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walker Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 80-61 win over the McMinn County Cherokees on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Cherokees last Friday, they had to take a 58-48 loss.

Walker Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-24. As for McMinn County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker Valley will head out to challenge Ooltewah on Friday. The timing is sure in Ooltewah's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Walker Valley has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for McMinn County, they will challenge Bradley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradley Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
