Basketball Recap: Teague Comes Up Short

Teague was the 50-40 winner over Elkhart when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Teague Lions lost 62-39 to the Elkhart Elks on Tuesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Teague saw an underclassman step up: freshman Carter Stacks posted 11 points and five rebounds. OSCAR YOUNG was another key player, putting up four points.

Even though they lost, Teague smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Teague's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Elkhart, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-18.

Teague will head out on the road to take on Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elkhart, they will host Buffalo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
