Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley Comes Up Short

Scotts Valley extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 10-14 in the process. They fell 4-1 to the Soquel Knights. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss on Tuesday.

Scotts Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lukas Bloom, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Soquel, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

On Soquel's side, they got a great performance from Luke Shoemaker as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

Scotts Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-1 win against San Lorenzo Valley on the 13th. As for Soquel, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-1 victory against Aptos on the 12th.
