Basketball Recap: Clarksburg Comes Up Short

Clarksburg lost against Poolesville back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Clarksburg Coyotes were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Poolesville Falcons.

Alexavier Saunders was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points for Poolesville. Another player making a difference was Daniel Reed, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Clarksburg has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Poolesville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-8.

Clarksburg has already played their next match (against Whitman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Poolesville will take on Watkins Mill at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Poolesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
