Soccer Recap: Warren Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

Warren hasn't lost a match since January 3rd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Marshall Rams a 2-0 shutout. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Rams are ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brian Guevara was the driving force of Warren's attack as he scored both of Warren's goals, bringing his season total up to 11 goals.

Warren is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

The future could be bright for both Warren and Marshall: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Warren will look to extend Holmes' nine-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Marshall will try to hand Sotomayor their third-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
